Project Description

The New National Urban Renewal Programme (NPNRU), launched by the French National Urban Renewal Agency (ANRU) in 2014, aims to transform 450 priority neighbourhoods across France through investments in housing, public facilities and urban development, with the objective of promoting social diversity and improving living conditions.

In Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, the NPNRU forms part of a broader urban development vision alongside other major initiatives, including Action Cœur de Ville and the Operation of National Interest (OIN). Strong coordination between these programmes is essential to ensure coherent urban transformation, effective stakeholder engagement and meaningful citizen participation.

A key component of the programme is the establishment of a Maison des Projets, bringing together project teams and urban development stakeholders while serving as the main hub for communication, consultation and citizen engagement activities.
