Diamniadio’s rather particular physical context exposes it to climate change phenomena more than a large part of the agglomeration.
These constraints thus recommend the preparation and implementation of accompanying measures to properly manage the urbanization of the site and avoid the problems experienced in recent years in the Dakar urban area.
The project aims to make a tangible contribution to making Diamniadio a sustainable city by improving knowledge about vulnerability to climate change and the risks facing the city as well as recommended adaptation measures.

The purpose of the mission is to develop a sustainable city strategy in order to (i) provide the Diamniadio agglomeration with a planning document to guide and synergize the programmes of the State, local authorities and the private sector and (ii) define.

- the preparation of a priority investment programme and proposals for financing modalities in the context of public-private partnerships (PPPs)
- a Development Plan for the lakes, public spaces and main axes of the Diamniadio urban centre (APS/APD/DAO), with the establishment of a coherent landscape management approach for the whole centre a detailed Urban Plan organizing and rationalizing land use around the urban centre of Diamniadio
